Players Love Working For The NFL

It takes the work of a lot of people to make the National Football League what it is – but it’s the players and coaches on the field who get all the glory.

Prompted by the approach of the Super Bowl, we took a look at employee reviews of the NFL submitted to CareerBliss.com by employees. The reviews rate employee happiness on several factors, such as compensation, coworkers and job security, among others.

Based on our data, basking in game day glory translates into a higher level of job happiness for players, compared to their behind-the-scenes counterparts.

“I liked playing against the best players in the world,” a NFL running back wrote, “and being challenged everyday mentally and physically.”

Here’s the rundown:

Overall, the NFL garners a bliss score of 4.2 out of 5.

“Great place to work,” a systems analyst with the NFL wrote.

For players, the bliss score comes in at 4.6.

“[I enjoyed the] great people and fans; traveling around the country; compensation and benefits. “Very exciting work,” a NFL player wrote.

For non-players employed by the NFL, the bliss score is 3.8.

“Big football fan so [I liked] working on the product,” a NFL application developer wrote. However it’s “too corporate for the Internet world.”

But it’s not all sunshine and Super Bowls for NFL players. Here are some of the gripes they shared with CareerBliss:

“The physical stress on the body and the verbal abuse by employer. But it comes with the profession.”

“All the injuries that you get!”

“Everyone has to leave.”
