Subway is under fire for suspending its relationship with longtime spokesman Jared Fogle following an FBI raid of his home.

Hundreds of people are blasting the company on Facebook for distancing itself from Fogle when he hasn't been arrested or charged with any crimes.

Others said they support Subway's decision to end the relationship, but won't eat there anymore due to the investigation, which is allegedly linked to a child pornography investigation.

"If you end your relationship with Jared I'll end my family relationship with Subway," wrote Facebook user Helen Conforti.

User Oscar Stone wrote, "If Jared is in fact innocent, or at least until he's proven guilty, Subway's reputation would've been better served by standing by their man. You shouldn't bite the hand that feeds you. Subways success has everything to do with Jared."

A third user wrote, "Hasn't Subway ever heard of INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY! Shame on the company."

Subway made the decision to sever relations with Fogle - who has been a spokesman for the company for more than 15 years - mere hours after federal authorities raided his home Tuesday.

The company said the decision was mutual.

"Both Jared and Subway agree that this was the appropriate step to take," the company said in a statement.

Earlier in the day, Subway released a statement saying it was "shocked" by the probe and believed it was related to an investigation of a former employee of the Jared Foundation, which was started by Fogle to help kids improve their eating and exercise habits.

The statement was likely in reference to the arrest of Russell Taylor, the Jared Foundation's former director, who is facing federal child pornography charges.

The FBI raided Taylor's home on April 29 and found hundreds of videos of child pornography, many of which were recorded in his home, according to court documents reviewed by Business Insider.

Federal authorities have not disclosed the reason for the raid of Fogle's home.
