Paytm goes Global, launches bill payment service in Canada

Alibaba-backed Paytm today announced its foray into the Canadian market with the launch of its bill payments service in the North American country. “Users in Canada will now be able to pay for their cell phone, cable, internet, electricity and water bills. In addition to this, users will also be able to pay for their insurance and property taxes by using the new Paytm Canada app,” Paytm said in a statement. The app will be available for both Android and iOS users in Canada, it added. Paytm currently has user base of over 200 million, it offers services like payments/recharges, mobile wallets, e-commerce and getting all set to launch payment banking services.

Paytm in the statement also talked about how they started out in Canada back in 2014 as a two-member operation in Toronto, working out of local libraries. “It’s been a while since then, and the Paytm Labs team today is a 55 member strong team of Software, Data and Machine Learning engineers who build technologies for the world’s fastest growing mobile payments and commerce ecosystem,” it added.

2. Bill Reminders: A bill reminder will show up 10 days prior to the estimated due date. You will receive multiple reminders until you pay your bill or notify us to stop.
3. 100% Service Assurance: Paytm Canada debits your money only after your bill is paid.
