Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus is expected to announce its OnePlus 8 series in the first half of 2020. There have been several leaks over the past few weeks surrounding the upcoming OnePlus smartphones. Now, the OnePlus 8 Pro has been spotted on a benchmarking portal.
The OnePlus 8 Pro with the model number GALILEI IN2023 was spotted on Geekbench. It has a single-core score of 4,296 and multi-core score of 12,531, which is similar to the scores of the iPhone 11 series.
An earlier leak had revealed that OnePlus will launch three smartphones – OnePlus 8 Lite, OnePlus 8 and the OnePlus 8 Pro. While the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro are expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 865 chipset, the OnePlus 8 Lite may be equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 1000L chipset.
OnePlus is working on a new 120Hz display technology
OnePlus CEO, Pete Lau in a post on Weibo revealed that the company has completed the research and development on its 120Hz display technology. The technology will reportedly be introduced at the company’s ‘OnePlus 2020 Screen Technology Communication Meeting'.
OnePlus had introduced the OnePlus 7 Pro with a 90Hz display and the OnePlus 7T and the 7T Pro had used the same display. The company is expected to use the new 120Hz display for its upcoming smartphones later this year.
OnePlus 8 Pro: Everything we know so far
The OnePlus 8 Pro is expected to be equipped with the company’s new 120Hz display. The device is expected to feature a 6.7-inch Quad HD+ AMOLED display.
The Geekbench listing has revealed that the OnePlus 8 Pro will be powered by the Snapdragon 865 chipset coupled with up to 12GB RAM. The device is expected to support 50W Super Warp fast charge and IP53 rating for ingress protection.
