Ola will now have its own ‘Ola Zone’ at the Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru, thanks to an MoU signed between the transportation app and the airport authorities. This will let Ola’s driver-partners to park their cars inside the KIAB premises. The company claims this will play a ‘pivotal role’ in Ola’s bid to aid mobility in a city as big as Bengaluru.
Ola users can now instantly book their cabs waiting at the ‘Ola Zone’, just across the Arrivals gate. The company has been allotted dedicated parking slots and pick-up points in the airport premises. The company looks to replicate this model with other key public utility spaces as well, such as railways stations, bus stations, in Bengaluru and 102 other cities it’s in.
Anuj Sahai, Vice President, Alliances at Ola said, “As a result of this MoU, a larger pool of cars will be available for airport travelers with lower ETAs and utmost efficiency.”
Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru is one of the busiest airports in the country and handled over 19 million passengers in FY 2016.
