A tanker carrying tallow oil crashed into a bridge linking Portsmouth, New Hampshire and Kittery, Maine, the AP reports.

There are no signs of a spill or reports of injuries, according to the AP.

The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. EST when the tanker hit the side of the Sarah Mildred Long Bridge following a mechanical failure.

Tallow oil is made from pressing rendered animal fat. It's used to produce soap and in animal feed.
