Ohio Air Force Base locked down after reports of active shooter at base hospital
Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio was locked down Thursday afternoon due to reports of an active shooter situation.
An alert was sent out revealing that authorities and emergency responders were on the scene in response to an incident at the base hospital.
"Emergency responders are en route. All WPAFB gates are closed. All personnel take cover. Limit all communication to emergency use only," the alert read, according to Dayton Daily News.
The base's Twitter account also sent the following messages:
Citing dispatch reports, the Dayton Daily News reports that there may be someone barricaded inside the medical center.
