Business Insider compiled surveys from five reputed sources — Republic-C Voter, News18 - IPSOS, Today's Chanakya, India Today-Axis, and TimesNow - VMR — amongst many others and the final number is an average of these five polls.
Odisha which was voting for assembly as well as Lok Sabha seats, saw a fight between the power of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the state’s Chief Minister of 19 years Naveen Patnaik.
Odisha has got a total number of 21 Lok Sabha seats and the state voted in the Lok Sabha elections in four phases. Four constituencies polled on April 11. Elections were held for five seats on April 18. ON April 23, 6 seats saw their polling. The remaining 6 seats went for polling on April 29. Biju Janata Dal is the single strongest party in the state presently holding 20 parliamentary seats out of 21 following its overwhelming victory in the 2014 general Lok Sabha elections.
The BJP could win only from one Lok Sabha constituency in Odisha namely Sundargarh. From the Bargarh constituency, the BJD has now fielded Prasanna Acharya, the Rajya Sabha MP, he has taken on Pradeep Debata of the Congress party and Suresh Pujari, the national secretary of BJP. From the Bolangir seat, the BJD has fielded Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo.
He won the 2014 general elections from this constituency by defeating the BJP candidate Sangeeta Kumari Singh Deo. During 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Sangeeta Kumari Singh Deo is appearing once more as the candidate fighting Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo. In the Sundargarh Lok Sabha seat, we see a triangular contest between George Tirkey or Congress, Sunita Biswal of BJD and Jual Oram of BJP.
