Corporates are rolling out transportation options for its staff amid odd-even plan hullabaloo

From rolling out work-from-home options to metro cards, corporates in Delhi-NCR are doing everything they can for its workforce so that they are not hit hard by Delhi government’s odd-even plan starting January 1, 2016.

As Delhi government is implementing its even-odd numbers plan to battle alarmingly high pollution levels, a slew of companies are giving several options to their employees and pushing them to use public transport and adopt car pool.

For instance, PwC India is giving metro cards to its employees to encourage use of metro.

"At least there is some thought by the government towards fighting pollution. We are internally working out ways to support the government on this. The company is also close to opening a plug and play office in Noida with 'hot desks' which employees can use and avoid having to travel across Delhi to its main offices in Gurgaon. This would also reduce the burden of commuting and thus pollution of employees staying around Noida,” PwC's human capital leader Jagjit Singh told ET.

Other places like KPMG, Jabong, Paytm, etc are also embracing flexible work models.

KPMG is adopting agile working models in which employees can work from anywhere.

Some senior managers are leading by example and adopting car pool themselves.
