Mike Huckabee critiqued Republican efforts - in the House and Senate - to repeal and replace Obamacare Monday while appearing on Fox Business Network, describing the current health care situation as "Goldilocks and the Three Bills."

"If this were a fairy tale, it would be 'Goldilocks and the three bills' - Obamacare, the House version and the Senate version. And at this point, none of them are just right," Huckabee said.

They are all either "too hot" or 'too cold,'" Huckabee said, adding that was "in part because both sides are looking at this trying to make it an ideological bill rather than a practical, pragmatic bill."

Huckabee also echoed an argument other GOP lawmakers have made: "Something that is worse than not getting it down quickly is getting it down wrong." The former Arkansas governor and Republican presidential candidate said sticking with this course of action could cause some "major blunders" for Republican lawmakers.

Huckabee criticized the Senate health care bill after the CBO released a score saying 22 million Americans would lose coverage in 2026 under the Senate's bill, known as the Better Care Reconciliation Act (BCRA), arguing it wasn't what President Trump promised people on the campaign trail.

"If the end game is to save money, then the Republicans might be on the right track. But that's not the game Donald Trump campaigned on and it is not the endgame that Americans care most about. They want access to affordable and realistic healthcare," Huckabee said.
