Weeks after its global showcase Nokia has brought Nokia X to the Indian shores. This is the first offering from Nokia in the Android smart phone segment. The price is not too shabby either. Nokia India has priced the phone at Rs 8,599, which will not carry any of the Google services but has a lot of other things to offer.

Nokia X is an Android of different sorts. Nokia has used AOSP, which corresponds to Android Jelly bean and have built their eco-system on top of it. Consumers get a user skin over the Android OS that is a bit similar to the Windows Tile System. The phone has a 1 GHz dual core processor, 512 MB or RAM and 4 GB internal storage. Nokia X can also accommodate 2 SIM cards. As far as the imaging is concerned, this 4-Inch touch screen phone can take them with a 3 MP rear camera. Nokia India did display the phones ruggedness by dropping it from 6 feet and banging it on a table. The overall built seems nice, as the phone did work properly afterwards.

Available in an array of colour (just like the ones you find on Nokia Lumia series) this is a phone worthy of a glance. Users also get 7 + 3GB of Microsoft cloud storage to amass additional files. This phone is built for the masses and one can buy this neat little device from today at any Nokia store. Nokia X+ and XL are the next ones to come in the X series. The company said they will be available in India in the next 60 days.
