Here comes the first camera launch of the upcoming festive season. Diwali is the time when most will loosen their purse strings and buy digital gifts for the family. And the first one to jump into the pool to captivate consumers is Nikon. The company has brought its FX-format, full-frame DSLR called D610 that has slightly better specs than the previous-generation camera. It falls in the mid-segment of DSRL cameras and should be capable enough to take noise-free shots.

One of the key highlights of the camera is a 24.3 MP sensor, which can capture 6 shots per second. The ISO range of up to 6,400 is supported and is equipped with a 39 point auto-focus system. A 24-85 mm VR lens comes in the box that should be able to take crisp pictures under most conditions. To preview images, the camera has a 3.2 inch LCD at the back, which sports an auto-brightness sensor. This sensor allows the camera to automatically adapt to the ambient light conditions and users will always see a vivid and clear image on the LCD.

Priced at Rs 1,57,000 (with kit), the D610 camera is the first in the line of launches about to come. We should see some more from Canon and Sony in the coming weeks. And that should stir the otherwise slow DSLR camera market.
