Nifty and Sensex gathering pace in noon trade

Both the Nifty and the Sensex gathered pace in noon trade on Monday as traders latched on to index heavyweights Bharti Airtel, Reliance Industries and Sun Pharma. Smart gains were seen on the Telecom, Pharma, Auto, FMCG and Media sectors in the cash markets. Here is a snapshot of the markets in mid-afternoon trade, with a special focus on the Nifty stocks.

BENCHMARKS
Nifty added 25 at 8,263 points
Sensex rose 118 points to 27,333

BROADER INDICES
CNX 500 Index rose 0.3% to 6,892 points.
CNX Mid Cap Index added 0.4% to 13,384 points.
CNX Small Cap Index gained 0.4% to 5,527 points.

SECTORAL INDICES
Bank Nifty fell 0.3% to 17,856 points
CNX Auto slid 0.2% to 8,246 points.
CNX Pharma rose 1.1% to 13,341 points.
CNX FMCG Index added 0.7% to 20,579 points.
