Running may burn more calories per minute, but zumba has more variation in intensity. It can certainly help losing more weight. The one that elicits a more rapid heart rate is probably the bigger calorie-burner for you.

A study led by John Porcari, program director of the Clinical Exercise Physiology program at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, stated zumba burns more calories than typical cardio classes such as kickboxing, power yoga and step aerobics.
