The latest election poll published today shows the Conservatives and the Labour Party are neck-and-neck in the polls.

Both parties scored 33% according to polling organisation Britain Elects, with the United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP) coming in third with 15% of the vote.

The results aren't a good sign for Labour as Britain Elect's previous poll showed the party with a three point lead over The Tories.

It looks even worse when you take into account a poll released yesterday by Ipsos MORI which gave Miliband's party a significant five point lead over the tories.

As it stands, the results of this year's election are uncertain and it's still highly unlikely that any of the major parties are going to win a majority in Parliament.

Britain Elect's poll showed the Green Party trailing behind with just four points, and the Liberal Democrats not far ahead with nine percent:

Latest Populus poll (29 - 30 Apr):

  • CON - 33% (-)
  • LAB - 33% (-3)
  • UKIP - 15% (+1)
  • LDEM - 9% (+1)
  • GRN - 4% (-1)
