New Entry Level Phones Will Run On This Chip

Everyone knows that the entry level segment of phones is the most heated segment in emerging markets, as people are switched from feature phones to smartphones at supersonic speeds. Qualcomm has recently announced that the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset is ready. People will soon see them in new budget mobile phones from various Indian as well as international manufacturers.

The novel chipset is developed for the masses who do not want to spend too much on a smartphone. Sure it is an inexpensive chipset in the Snapdragon family, but that does not mean it will not deliver the best. It is designed to perform well too. Besides speedy processing, 410 enables the smartphone to have a 13 MP camera and Full HD video playback capability. Moreover, for countries that have 4G/LTE network the 410 chip will allow the consumers to use those networks too.

Production of a chip like this indicates that Qualcomm is not just working for high-end chipsets, which sell well in developed economies, but are also looking at emerging economies. On paper Snapdragon 410 is built to give extreme performance on a budget. It will be interesting to see which Indian companies pick it up to be in their next generation of mobile phones.
