Chrysler this morning reported U.S. sales of 143,017 units, a 1% bump compared with a year ago. It was the company's best September since 2007.
Ford, GM, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, and Hyundai will report later today. Analysts are expecting total sales to fall to 15.80 million units at a seasonally adjusted annualized rate, a drop from August's 16.02 million figure (Labor Day sales figured were included in August's figures, not September's).
Analysts also expect domestic vehicle sales to have fallen to 12.30 million SAAR in September from 12.44 million.
