Police responded to a Greyhound bus station in Richmond, Virginia, where an active shooting was taking place, local news stations reported.
The shooter, who officials say was shot by a trooper, was reported by ABC affiliate WRIC to be dead.
Reports of the number of casualties were rapidly changing on Thursday afternoon, with multiple local affiliates initially reporting that 2 Virginia state troopers and one female civilian were injured, only to be increased to 6 injured by gunshots, with 2 in critical condition, apparently not including the shooter. The injured were taken to VCU Medical Center.
Photos from the scene showed multiple ambulances and police vehicles surrounding the bus station. NBC12's Mike Valerio reported that Virginia State Police were leading the investigation.
