Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav expelled his son and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and his cousin Ram Gopal Yadav from the party for six years.

Mulayam Singh Yadav said he had taken the action against Akhilesh and Ramgopal to save the party which he had built through hard efforts. He also said the party will decide on the new chief minister of Uttar Pradesh.

The timing of the matter is of utmost importance as the assembly elections are ahead and the SP chief accused Ram Gopal of indulging in anti-party activities and also weakening the party ahead of the assembly elections.

Not only that he also accused Ram Gopal Yadav of hurting the interests of chief minister Akhilesh Yadav and misleading him. Angered by the Ram Gopal yadav’s action Mulayam said "no one has the right to call national executive meeting" other than the party chief.

The SP supremo took a jab at his own son Akhilesh Yadav for siding with Ram Gopal Yadav in the party infighting.
