Mukesh Ambani and family beat Bollywood to become India's most trending power couples

One of the biggest weddings of last year was Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta’s wedding in March 2019. It is no surprise that they took up newsprint and internet trends. “One such interesting insight was that Ambani father-son duo were equally in the news (70% each) with their better halves and most of the coverage was positive,” said the Wizikey report.
Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh
Bollywood’s power couple Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone were in news all of last year for their PDA on social media. The newsiest were Deepika’s visit to Cannes, and mentions of their upcoming movie ‘83. According to the Wizikey report, they were most in news with 53% being positive news.
Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor
Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor have been in the news ever since the couple made their relationship public. They also have a movie coming up – Brahmastra, and that kept the chatter going. But it is rumours of their ‘wedding in the offing’ that hit headlines. As per the Wizikey data, they have the most number of new articles floating but the positive ones were only 18%.
Akhilesh and Dimple Yadav
The only political couple to feature in the list – Akhilesh and Dimple Yadav were in the news thanks to the 2019 elections. Akhilesh’s run up to the 2022 UP CM elections also kept them in the news.
Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma
The couple which brought together two things that Indians love – Bollywood and cricket, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma take the next spot for being the most trending couple. From their Bhutan vacation posts on social media to the cricket wins, all of it translated into mentions of the couple. “The couple generated more than 3500+ news mentions out of which 47% of the news was positive,” said the Wizikey report.
Saina Nehwal and Parupalli Kashyap
The badminton power couple who got married in December, 2018, were most in news for their performance on court. From the Korean Open to the All England Championship and Indonesia Open, they garnered 31% of news with most of them being positive.
