Lenovo, the owner of Motorola, has set the date for the unveiling of the next generation Moto 360 smartwatch: September 8. This date sits squarely between IFA, the giant consumer electronics show in Berlin, and Apple's event, held on September 9.
In a post on the company's Weibo account (via Twitter), Leonovo announced the September 8 date and teased a new, gold-looking Moto 360.
The new Moto 360 is expected to come in at least two models: a new larger edition, called the 360L, and a smaller model, the 360S, which could stand for "Sport." Images of both models have leaked showing similar ideas to the Moto 360 with a "flat tire" display cutting the bottom off an otherwise round design. There has been much speculation about which models - out of the 360L, 360S and potential 360 Sport - will be unveiled at the September 8 event with a suggestion that we may not see the 360 Sport until November. Business Insider has reached out to Lenovo to confirm the authenticity of the image and will update the article when we hear back.
