PM Modi asks BJP members to aggressively debate on JNU incident in Rajya Sabha today
Stock Market1 min read

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has finally broken his silence on the JNU row. As per reports, at the BJP Parliamentary party executive committee meeting, he asked BJP lawmakers to not shy away from debating aggressively on the JNU issue in Parliament.

In the Rajya Sabha today, the ruling party and the opposition will be debating on the JNU incident and Rohith Vemula's suicide case; both cases have garnered much attention in the country in the recent past.

If the reports are to be believed, the opposition has planned to target the way the government handled the JNU incident. They will apparently bring up the issue of police being sent to the university campus at night and slapping the students with tough sedition charges. This is the reason why Modi wants his government to be well-prepared for the heated arguments.

The lawmakers are asked to be confident about their work, and are legally strong, since raising anti-national slogan amounts to sedition in the books of law.

Allegedly, the ruling party can also bring up the arrest of Kashmiri terrorist Muhammad Ghauri from JNU during Congress-led UPA rule.
