M&M launches its new mean machine-the TUV300 compact SUV
Your wait for Mahindra & Mahindra’s compact SUV, TUV300, is finally over. The company, which is planning to invest Rs 1200 crore on TUV 300, launched it at a starting price of Rs 6.9 lakh.
With this new SUV, M&M is enhancing its product portfolio and strengthen its position as a leading manufacturer of utility vehicles in India.
The TUV300 is powered by a 1.5-litre mHawk 80 three-cylinder diesel engine with a two-stage turbocharger capable of delivering 84 hp and 230 Nm of torque to the rear wheels, via a 5-speed manual or an autoSHIFT automated manual transmission.
The boot is rated at 384 litres, or 720 litres with foldable jump seats.
TUV300 has safety features like ABS, EBD and dual airbags. ABS is standard on the T6, while the T8 also gets airbags in addition. However, ABS and airbags can be had as an option even on the base variants.
M&M plans to export TUV300 to South Africa and other neighbouring markets in few weeks.
TUV300, a compact sub-four metre SUV, will be positioned as a true blue SUV and is expected to compete with the likes of Toyota Etios Cross, Hyundai 120 Active and Fiat Avventura which are priced at a range of Rs 6.23 lakh and Rs 8.89 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
TUV300 has been inspired by a battle tank with raised shoulders, high front nose, flat roof, high ground clearance and straight bonnet.
Meanwhile, TUV 300 variants have been priced between Rs 6.9 lakh and Rs 9.12 lakh.
