Missouri Governor Declares A State Of Emergency And Curfew In Ferguson

The governor of Missouri declared a state of emergency and a curfew in the St. Louis suburb of Ferguson on Saturday afternoon, in the wake of riots that ensued after a police officer shot an unarmed black 18-year-old.

"We will not allow a handful of looters to endanger the rest of this community," Gov. Jay Nixon said in a press conference Saturday broadcast live on MSNBC.
