Millions of people are going nuts for a brush that can straighten curly hair in minutes

Oct 1, 2015, 19:50 IST

A video of a hair-straightening brush in action is going viral on Facebook, having already been viewed over 53 million times.

The video was posted by the radio station 98.3 KORA in Texas, and in it, a young woman who has thick wavy hair is able to straighten it with only a few brush strokes.

"When we posted this, we had no idea it would get so huge," the radio station wrote on Facebook. Commenters were impressed, comparing the brush to hot combs and other similar products online.

The brush is from an Italian company called DAFNI and is a "hair straightening ceramic brush." The idea is similar to any other straightening tool - you slowly run the hot ceramic through your hair and it gets rid of any waves or kinks.

What DAFNI claims makes it better than competitors is that it has more surface area than the traditional straightener, which means that hair could be done in as little as two minutes. Plus since it's already a brush, the hair wouldn't get tangled, according to the company.

The biggest downfall of the viral brush seems to be the cost. It retails for $300, but even with that steep price, it's already sold out on the Dermstore's website.

Of the seven people who have reviewed the brush online, many of them are impressed, leaving five star reviews on Dermstore and saying how bouncy, shiny, and straight the DAFNI brush made their hair.

"I cannot wait to use this every single day," one commenter gushed. "It is so easy and makes my hair look great in just a few minutes!" She added that her only con is a lack of temperature settings and that her ends are "not completely pin straight."

But not everyone was so thrilled on the website.

"While the product is a great product, I am appalled at the price of $300," one woman wrote. "I mean seriously, you have a good product and you make it unaffordable for people in every day life, gee can you say greedy much!"
