IOM has published a report called 'Measuring Global Migration Potential 2010-2015,' which analyses intentions of people all across the globe willing to migrate for the period 2010-2015. The agency noted that globally, 1.3% of the adult population or 66 million people confirmed their plan to migrate permanently in next 12 months.
The countries where most people wish to relocate to are the US, the UK, Saudi Arabia, France, Canada, Germany, and South Africa.
Almost half of those who wish to migrate live in just 20 countries, with Nigeria (5.1 million people) housing most of them, followed by India (4.8 million), Congo (4.1 million), Sudan, and Bangladesh and China (2.7 million each).
The study is based on international survey data by the Gallup World Poll.
