Microsoft

Microsoft is marketing the Surface Book as a laptop that can also be a tablet.

Microsoft's Surface Book, the tablet/laptop hybrid, will launch in the UK sometime between March and April 2016, according to Michael Gillett, one of Microsoft's Most Valuable Professionals for apps (essentially a liason between Microsoft and developers).

The Book launched in the US on October 26 and so there is a five to six month lag between the two markets.

There has previously been no set release date for the Surface Book, which Microsoft unveiled in October, in the UK.

Gillett went on to confirm that the new Surface Type Cover with fingerprint sensor would not be making its way across the pond, for reasons unknown to anyone outside of Microsoft.

The Future Decoded conference is aimed at Microsoft's PC partners and saw a keynote from CEO Satya Nadella.
