Microsoft Cortana went 13-1 last week picking NFL games - here's who it likes in Week 9
The impressive tally improved Cortana's overall record to 80-39 (67%). It's only miss came by way of the Falcons, who lost in overtime to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
According to NFL Pick Watch, which aggregates as many as 136 expert picks each week, only 3 had picked the Bucs to beat the Falcons outright.
Cortana's big week helped close the gap on Nate Silver's Elo model, which has correctly picked 84 games and boasts an impressive rate of 70% correct.
This week, Cortana and Las Vegas agree on all games, save for the Packers away to the Panthers. Cortana, as usual, likes the home team, giving the Panthers a 57% to win, while Vegas still likes the Packers on the road despite the fact that they're coming off a shellacking last week in Denver.
As always, you can access Cortana's picks on its Bing Blog, which will also now give you short explanations for its weekly picks. All point spread lines courtesy of Vegas Insider, as of Wednesday morning.
