Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella’s big announcements for India at 'Future Unleashed'
Speaking on the sidelines of ‘Future unleashed’ - Microsoft’s largest ever customer event held in India, CEO Satya Nadella on Thursday announced the availability of the new Lumia flagships along with launch of much awaited Surface Pro 4 in India soon.

While Lumia 950 and 950 XL will be available by December, Surface Pro is expected to hit the markets by January next year.

He said his company wants to play a small role in making a bright future for India using digitalization. The India-born CEO also said that his company will ensure there is more cloud computing in the country in the next 10 years. “We have to realize our core vision in a cloud-first, mobile-first world. Computing will be everywhere, what will be key is our mobility of our human experience through all this computing. That is where cloud is important,” he said, as he gave a demo of Microsoft tools on an iPhone.

“We are not stopping at building a phone that can run apps. We are keen on creating a full PC experience from the phone. Windows Continuum is a great feature in a market like India, he added.

He said he finds Indian startups and e-commerce space as one of the most exciting spaces in the world and is eager to work with e-commerce companies in India. Describing the progress of e-commerce as spectacular, he announced Microsoft’s plans of partnering with Justdial, Paytm and Snapdeal to help them innovate with cloud and analytics.

"Every time I come to India I'm captured by the entrepreneurial energy of India," Nadella said.

In his keynote address, he also stressed on the power of big data analytics and how it can empower businesses and government: "Today, we have big data but not big insights and we wish to bring about a major change here. Microsoft's intelligent cloud will help organizations make use of their data in a more effective manner.”

Microsoft CEO also said that startups working towards realizing the smart cities government programme will be able to apply for individual access to funds up to $120,000 worth of Azure computing for their smart cities solutions and pilots.
