Mercedes S 400 launched in India, will be locally made in Pune

In a bid to further strengthen its position in the attractive market that India offers, German luxury car maker Mercedes- Benz has launched S 400 sedan in India. The luxury sedan would be priced at Rs 1.31 crore (ex-showroom Hyderabad). The model has been launched in Hyderabad as of now, and will be locally produced at its Chakan plant in Pune.
"With the launch of the S 400, we further extend the S-Class model range and also bolster our strong presence in the prestigious S-Class segment," Mercedes-Benz India MD and CEO Roland Folger said.
He added that the company believes in introducing the latest products and variants in the market at regular intervals, so that customer interest and curiosity can be maintained.
"This strategy we firmly believe has contributed to our unmatched success in India," Folger added.

"This is yet another firm affirmation of our vision of 'Make in India', and our unwavering commitment to the Indian customer in presenting the best of our global offerings," Folger further said.
Talking of specifications, the car boasts of a 3-litre, V6 petrol engine with a maximum torque of 480Nm and power of 324bhp. Paired to a 7-speed automatic gearbox, it comes with various safety features including eight airbags, electronic stability program (ESP), 360 degree surround view camera and an active park assist.
Some other features to make the drive safe and smooth include massage function with six different programs, individual entertainment systems in the rear and Burmester 3D surround sound system with 24 speakers.
