If you were hoping for a smaller, more affordable convertible from Mercedes-Benz, you're in luck. Announced Monday, there is now a whole range of C-Class 'verts.
Whether you're looking for a convertible with an average amount of power, or a convertible with a bit more than average amount of power, you'll probably find something you like in the new lineup of open-top C-Classes. Unless you're just not a Benz kind of guy.

In European markets, there will be 8 different engine options available with the C-Class Convertible. They all use the same 9-speed automatic transmission as the recently unveiled C43 coupe. Power outputs range from 168 horsepower to 367 horsepower.

Just a tad slower than the C43 Coupe, the top-line C43 roadster manages zero to 62 miles per hour in 4.8 seconds.
If 367 horsepower just isn't enough, it's expected that Mercedes will release an even higher performance model taking the C63 AMG Convertible monkier, sometime later this year.
When placed next to the C-Class coupe, the cars are still pretty much identical. Only the convertible has a soft top, and the coupe is, well, a hard top coupe.

With the convertible there is an optional roof that uses extra sound deadening. Soft tops can be ordered in red, black, brown, or blue fabric.
An adaptive air suspension system can be optioned onto the convertible. This allows the suspension to be adjusted depending on the road surfaces in an effort to improve ride comfort. No word on pricing just yet, but that's probably not too cheap of an option.

Basically, the C-Class Convertible is everything you'd expect from an open-top C-Class. It's a luxurious, two-door, performance-friendly, German car without a roof.
Pricing hasn't yet been announced, but chances are it'll fall somewhere short of the $50,000 mark in Europe.
