The hatchback is fed by a a two-cylinder DDiS 125 engine. It has a 5 speed manual transmission and is capable of 47 bhp at 3,500 rpm and 125 Nm of torque at 2,000 rpm.
The company and its suppliers have invested over Rs. 900 Crore for the development of the ‘made in India’ engine that boasts 97% localization.
Maruti claims a whopping 27.62 km/ltr for the car as per ARAI norms. This makes it India's most fuel efficient diesel car.
