Mobile value-added services provider
mCarbon has signed new software deals for the next three years with
Vodafone India and
Reliance. The deals are worth around Rs. 20 crore and Rs. 15 crore respectively.
Media reports say this covers revenue enhancement products, consolidated call management solutions and Interactive End of Call Notification solutions. The revenue enhancement products include talk time commerce. With this, customers can lend or gift mobile talk time to others in the same network. Micro credit services help telcos provide emergency credit top-ups to prepaid users.
OSS usually refers to softwares that support a telecom’s back-office activities. BSS on the other hand refers to softwares that support activities involving customer interface. This means call centre automation billing, and so on.
Airtel is currently mCarbon’s largest customer. It has strongholds across Africa, Bangladesh and India.
