Maruti Suzuki had launched NEXA showrooms in July last year to sell its premium vehicles. It seems that this plan worked out for the automaker as over 11% of the total sales happened through NEXA showrooms.
Although the sales were slow when the NEXA outlets were launched but they picked up and Maruti sold 40,000 units of the S Cross and Baleno through the NEXA showrooms since July 2015.
Maruti Suzuki, which started with 95 NEXA outlets, plans to add 100 more to the count.
Reportedly, Maruti sold 17,000 units of the S Cross crossover and 23,000 Baleno premium hatchbacks through NEXA until end-December.
Maruti executive director RS Kalsi told ET, “Whatever we had envisioned, all that we have been able to implement. Outcome is excellent, in line with our estimates. We are already the segment leader in the crossover space and Baleno was the segment leader for the last two months.”
NEXA showrooms give a premium experience to customers. Now the automaker wants to bank on new Ciaz sedan and the Ignis hatchback-cum-crossover.
