Not much changed for the domestic stock markets on Tuesday which reported yet another decline. Nifty fell for the 10th straight session registering its longest losing streak since its launch in 1996. Meanwhile BSE Sensex recorded its third consecutive loss today. The 50-stock index finished at 22,082.65, going down by 36.65 points or 0.17% while the BSE Sensex fell by 96.01 points or 0.13% to close at Rs 72,989.93.
Commenting on the day's action, Rupak De, Senior Technical Analyst at LKP Securities, said that Nifty remained bullish throughout the day despite a gap-down start. "The index found support around 22,000 on a sustained basis. Though sentiment has not turned positive, there are signs that the index is finding support in the 21,800–22,000 zone. In the short term, we might witness a recovery. However, a decisive fall below 21,800 could change the current equation," De said.
