Malls, eating joints to remain open 24X7 soon!

Do you crave for a packet of chips or an ice-cream in the middle of the night and wait till the following day for stores to open? Well, soon you will be able to shop anything you want round-the-clock.
The Narendra Modi-led Indian government has proposed to replace the old laws and allow brick and mortar shops like malls, eating joints, movies halls, markets, etc to remain open 24X7.
This move will not only benefits customers and shopkeepers, it will also bring online and offline stores on the same platform, leading to improving the ease of doing business as well.
Presently, there is a fixed time for shops to shutter down. Every state has a different law and this new draft will replace all laws.
As per reports, India's retail industry is growing at 15% and expected to reach $1 trillion by 2020.
If the proposal, being drafted by the labour ministry, gets a go ahead, people working at shops, malls, etc will have to work in shifts.
