Mahindra Launches Gusto Scooter, To Come Up With More Models

Mahindra Two Wheelers Ltd is planning to launch more models this year in the already crowded two-wheeler market. “We are working across categories and want to be a serious player,” said Dharmendra Mishra, vice president (sales and customer care) of the company. He was speaking at the launch of Mahindra Gusto 110cc scooter in south India.Gusto, which comes with a height adjustable seat, has sold about 10,000 units in North India. Gusto was launched first in September, 2014.
“We had earlier indicated our plans to launch at least one new model every six months and we are committed to this. Several segments are being considered by the research and development team based in Pune. This includes a 150 cc scooter,” Mishra added.
He also revealed that the much-awaited Mojo 300 super bike would be launched in the early months of the next financial year. Mahindra had showcased the Mojo model almost five years ago.
Acknowledging the delay in Mojo’s launch, Mishra said that the company had given it a more robust look. Kawasaki’s Ninja 300 and Honda CBR 250 would the most significant competitors of Mojo.
