They call themselves as a SAAS - Sports as a service startup and we hope they deliver on that goal. Ludusz aims to bring about a lifestyle change among people across age groups with a focus on delivering health through sports.

The operating model of the product is based on Geo-Located Sports, which has a list of certified coaches and venues. They’re starting from the ground-up with ‘Surge’- which is their school program involving schools that will pay the platform to provide services.

Their ‘Event Factory’ is for people who want to connect over sports events. They are also planning specific programs for women and elderly. While the app is free to use to connect and engage on social media, they will levy a fee once you select a service.

Interestingly, Ludusz is not just an aggregator; it is a service provider as well. The mobile application, currently just on Google Play store, shall be predictive once you get comfortable with meeting people for team sports, and claims to provide the best recommendations for venues, coaches, and players using analytics.

Why a startup of this sort makes sense is because there is an urgent requirement for people in India to move towards a balanced lifestyle as research has clearly demonstrated a positive correlation between balanced lifestyle and annual health spends.

Moreover, in the next four years which is the same time when the next Beijing Games are scheduled, it will be a century since India first sent a team there. Going by the country’s poor performance in the last games, chances of a celebration look bleak until a revolution takes place.
