The Election Commission received nominations from 37 candidates for the single Lok Sabha Constituency in Puducherry, a union territory located within the borders of Tamil Nadu. Out of these papers, 19 were rejected due to several reasons during the scrutiny and the situation finds 18 people trying their luck in the upcoming elections. The top candidates from the union territory are V. Vaithilingam of the Congress, K. Narayanasamy of the AINRC, and M.A.S. Subramanian of Makkal Needhi Maiam. Some of the other candidates include B. Cowri (Naam Tamilar Katchi), K. Ravisankar (Puducherry Development Party) and S. Sridhar (Thamizhaga Vaazhvurumai Katchi).
