Liverpool Player Luis Suarez Gets Banned 10 Games For Biting An Opponent
Sky SportsLiverpool striker Luis Suarez has been banned for 10 matches for biting an opponent in 68th minute against Chelsea on Sunday, the English Football Association just announced.
Suarez bit defender Branislov Ivanovic in the triceps after a play in the box, but was not ejected at the time. He went on the score the winning goal.
He'll miss the last four games of this year, and the first six games of next year. It's a big, big suspension.
This is his second lengthy suspension for biting. In 2010 he was banned seven games while playing for Ajax in the Dutch Eredivisie.
The standard suspension is three games, but an addition seven were tacked on after the FA determined three games was "clearly insufficient."
