Republican U.S. presidential candidates Cruz, Bush and Trump talk at the end of the Republican presidential debate in Las Vegas

Republican presidential candidates are squaring off in the final debate before the Iowa caucuses - with the party's current front-runner missing from the stage.

Trump is boycotting Thursday night's debate amid an ongoing feud with Fox News, its host, and debate moderator Megyn Kelly. He is hosting an event minutes away from the debate stage in Iowa that his campaign says will raise money for veterans groups.

Meanwhile, seven other GOP candidates are taking to the debate stage: Sens. Marco Rubio (R-Florida), Ted Cruz (R-Texas), and Rand Paul (R-Kentucky), New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R), former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R), Ohio Gov. John Kasich (R), and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson.

With the Iowa caucuses just four days away, all candidates will be looking for a breakout moment. Here's where things stand in Iowa, according to a RealClearPolitcs average:

  • Trump: 32.9%
  • Cruz: 26.1%
  • Rubio: 13.9%
  • Carson: 7.6%
  • Paul: 3.9%
  • Bush: 3.4%
  • Christie: 2.7%
  • Kasich: 2%
