JPMorgan Chase kicks off third-quarter earnings season for big financials this morning.

The numbers are expected to be out at 7 a.m. EST.

On average, analysts are expecting the bank to post adjusted earnings per share of $1.28 and revenue of $24 billion, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.

Aside from the numbers, investors will be looking at is JPMorgan's legal reserves. It has been reported that the bank may pay $11 billion in a national mortgage related settlement.

Investors will also be interested in the bank's mortgage business results.
