LIVE: Barack Obama Is About To Answer America's Questions
REUTERS/Larry DowningBefore he joins Congress in going on vacation, President Obama is doing one last press conference today. Since he hasn't personally gone toe-to-toe with the press since April 30, he's got a lot to cover.
Potential questions include the recent frostiness with Vladimir Putin and Russia following the cancellation of a meeting earlier this week.
He'll likely also be asked about ongoing developments in the story about National Security Agency surveillance of Americans' communications.
We'll likely hear about the major fiscal fights currently pending in Congress: the need to pass a continuing resolution to keep funding the government past September 30, and to raise the debt ceiling which the federal government will likely hit sometime in the fall.
And Obama may face questions about whom he will appoint to be the next chairperson of the Federal Reserve.
We'll have live updates here.
