Aluminum giant Alcoa is set to report fourth quarter earnings after the market close on Monday, unofficially kicking off fourth quarter earnings season.
Analysts are looking for Alcoa to report earnings per share of $0.27 on revenue of $6.05 billion, according to data from Bloomberg.
As one of the world's largest aluminum suppliers, Alcoa is seen as a bellwether for the global economy, and as we head into fourth quarter earnings season the major focus will be on the energy sector, and so investors will be combing Alcoa's report for any clues on how the decline in the price of oil is aiding or hurting corporate performance.
