Jane Abbott Lighty (L) and Pete-e Petersen celebrated as the clock struck midnight on Dec. 6 in Seattle. The women met on a blind date in 1977 and have been together ever since, CNN reported. Lighty was 77 and Petersen was 85 when Washington legalized gay marriage.
Those 35 years of waiting paid off last month when the two finally received their marriage license.
