Meet Tom Hiddleston, Taylor Swift's rumored boyfriend and the man who might be the next James Bond
Before Hollywood, Hiddleston had an illustrious career in British theater.
He got his big Hollywood break playing Loki in the first "Thor" movie.
He became a Norse god's adoptive brother and sworn enemy in 2011's "Thor." The movie grossed $450 million and Hiddleston quickly became the internet's boyfriend.
Hiddleston turned into one of the Marvel franchise's biggest stars.
Marvel turned Hiddleston into the series' main villain. He resumed his role in 2012's "The Avengers," turning Captain America, Iron Man, and the rest of the team against each other while he plotted to destroy Earth.
By the time Marvel released "Thor: The Dark World" in 2013, Hiddleston wasn't just another supervillain. He co-headlined the movie with Hemsworth's Thor. The two teamed up to beat an even bigger, badder villain.
Then he got Steven Spielberg's attention and snagged a role in "War Horse."
Steven Spielberg cast Hiddleston in his World War I drama "War Horse." His role was small, but heartbreaking. When the main character, Albert, is forced to give up his horse, Hiddleston's character, an army captain, promises to take care of it. It doesn't end well.
Woody Allen also hired him for a role in his film, "Midnight in Paris."
Hiddleston picked up an American accent and played a brief but hilarious turn as F. Scott Fitzgerald in Woody Allen's time-travelling movie "Midnight in Paris."
He finished off the string of acclaimed arthouse roles by starring in 2012's "The Deep Blue Sea," the little-seen but critically acclaimed romantic drama directed by Terrence Davies, and 2013's "Only Lovers Left Alive," where he played an immortal vampire who's a really good musician.
When Hiddleston became a star, he and his girlfriend broke up.
While his career rocketed into the stratosphere, Hiddleston dropped his girlfriend of three years, actress Susannah Fielding.
At the time, Hiddleston told The Daily Mail that he put his entire personal life on hold when his career took off. He even missed his best friend's wedding.
"It was one of those crazy things where I’d said I’d be there – even if Spielberg called. And Spielberg did call and I wasn’t there. We fell out really badly," Hiddleston said. "It’s OK now. He read me the riot act and then we went out and got slammed."
He's rumored to have dated stars like Jessica Chastain.
In 2014, Hiddleston and Chastain shot "Crimson Peak," a haunted mansion horror movie. The two were rumored to have dated for a few months, but Chastain says she has a no-dating-actors rule, so it might have been nothing.
He might have also dated a "Sherlock" star.
Hiddleston and Lara Pulver, who plays the kinky Irene Adler in "Sherlock" were spotted on a night out together in July 2013. But the two haven't been spotted since then.
He's a favorite to be the next James Bond.
Since starring in "High-Rise" and "The Night Manager" this year, Hiddleston has been edging out Idris Elba as the favorite to replace Daniel Craig as the next James Bond.
And now he's reportedly dating one of the biggest pop stars in the planet.
Last night, The Sun broke the news that Tom Hiddleston is reportedly dating Taylor Swift, who recently broke up with DJ Calvin Harris.
You're going to be hearing a lot more about this gentleman in the future.
