Last date of nomination for Haryana state elections

The tenure of the state government in Haryana ends on November 2, 2019. The Election Commission has announced that the state will go for assembly elections in October 2019. Hence all the 70 seats of the state will go for elections on the same day.

Talking to the press in New Delhi, the Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora announced the dates of Haryana state elections on Saturday, September 21, 2019.

The gazette notification about the state assembly elections in Haryana will be published on Friday, September 27, 2019.

The candidates eager to contest in the said elections must file their nominations before Friday, October 4, 2019.

The election commission will scrutinize the applications and the nominations will be approved or disapproved on Monday, October 5, 2019.

Monday, October 7, 2019 will be the last date for the candidates to withdraw their nominations if they wish to do so.

The state will go for polling for the state elections on Monday, October 21, 2019.

The votes will be counted on Thursday, October 24, 2019.

The model code of conduct for the contesting parties and independent candidates has already come into effect with the announcement of the election dates by the election commissioner of India.

The state assembly of Haryana has 70 seats in total. All the seats will go for polling on the same day on Monday, October 21, 2019. In 2014 assembly elections, the BJP had won 47 seats and gave away only 15 seats to the Congress Party. The 2019 assembly elections in the state is eagerly sought after as this is the first assembly elections after the Modi government came to power in the center for the second term in succession.
