KFC is now serving donuts at dozens of locations.
On Tuesday, the fried chicken chain announced it is testing "Chicken and Donuts" for a limited time at more than 40 locations in Norfolk/Richmond, Virginia, and Pittsburgh.
Options include the Kentucky Fried Chicken and Donut Basket, which pairs chicken on the bone or chicken tenders with one or two donuts, and the Kentucky Fried Chicken and Donuts Sandwich, which sandwiches a chicken fillet between two fully glazed donuts.

The chicken-and-donut meal will cost $5.49 for one donut and $7.49 for two donuts. The sandwich is priced at $5.99, or as a combo meal for $7.99. Customer can also add a donut - served hot - to any meal for $1.
KFC said in a press release that the chain is using the test to evaluate whether customers are craving chicken and donuts on a national scale. According to a representative, the donuts will arrive to stores already cooked. When a customer orders chicken and donuts, the donuts will be dipped in the fryers and glazed with a vanilla icing to ensure they are hot and fresh.
The fried chicken-donut mashup is already polarizing potential customers on social media.
Some saw the menu item as a dangerous option for KFC to offer.
Some people were intrigued.
Some blamed Popeyes' recent super-successful chicken sandwich for KFC's new test.
While many people were shocked by the Kentucky Fried Chicken Donut Sandwich, the concept isn't entirely new.
Chicago-based chain Do-Rite Donuts and Chicken serves a similar menu item, as does Sam's Fried Chicken & Donuts in Houston, Texas. KFC notes in a press release that chicken and donuts have been trending recently in areas including Philadelphia, San Diego, and Portland.
