"Last Week Tonight with John Oliver" was off Sunday night, but thanks to the beauty of the internet, we still get to laugh Monday morning. The show posted a web exclusive on its YouTube during the hiatus.

Oliver welcomes back the cicadas, who have been hidden from the world while they were on their long reproductive cycle. The latest batch, coming this summer, was conceived in 1999.

To catch the cicadas up on what's been going on the last 17 years, Oliver gave them a very quick recap.

That included highlights such as: People are now famous for just "playing games and opening boxes" on YouTube, Dr. Dre is now an electronics mogul, and we've stopped paying for music and porn, and we've probably gotten away with it.
