Jayalalithaa to be buried next to MGR memorial at Marina Beach

J. Jayalalithaa’s mortal remains will be buried and not cremated and this has put to rest all confusions about her last rites. Initially, there were many speculations on her last rites as per the Hindu Brahmin rituals.

As per various reports, the party high command settled on burial, which is how AIADMK founder MG Ramachandran was laid to rest.

Jayalalithaa passed away on Monday of a cardiac arrest and will be buried next to MGR memorial on Kamarajar Salai, Marina Beach.

The state government has engaged JCB excavators to prepare the burial site.

Jayalalithaa, the five-time chief minister of Tamil Nadu, ran her AIADMK party with an iron hand and appointed no second line of leadership or successor.
